No Training Wheels For Emma

So, Sunday we were outside and the kids were riding scooters and bikes and Emma decided it was time to take off her training wheels. I guess she felt it was time since she is about to turn SEVEN...nice! Anyway, we took them off for her and she took right to it, she only had to build the confidence, but she did great. Now she wants to ride her two wheel bike all the time and everywhere, sorry, it's not really an option. I always have to ruin their big plans, cuz I'm nice like that! Way to go EMMA!

My Sewing/Craft/Game Room/Office

Yesterday I worked hard getting this room all organized and clean. I took some pictures due to popular demand...so eat your heart out! Ha!

Oh ya, I hung up the rod to be able to hand some of my favorite quilts up on. That is basically what the pictures are of. Anyway, Enjoy!
p.s. the first picture is of a recent hand embroidery project that I recently completed.

The "Two Wheeler"

Jacob finally graduated from training wheels. At only 7 1/2 years old, he finally got sick of them and decided to teach himself to ride a two wheeler. He started teaching himself at his cousins, the Bradbury's house. Then he showed me that he could ride cousin Charity's bike at Grandpa's ranch yesterday. So today we took the training wheels off of his bike to see if he could do it. (His bike is a bigger bike than the others he had been riding.) Sure enough, off he went! So he is excited to take his own bike to Grandpa's ranch. We just have to keep him away from loose gravel and the barbed wire fence. No good can come of that...Just ask Katie!

Way to go Jacob! We're so proud of you!

My Children are Brilliant!

Many of you may or may not know that I love smelly candles. I love the sweet smelling ones, like warm vanilla, or spiced cider, or Cinnamon. I'm not a big fan of flowery or musky smelling scents.

I got a new Yankee candle called Home Sweet Home. It's lovely! So Saturday I decided to break it in. We had it lit for about an hour and the downstairs was being filled with it's fragrance. Mmmm! Lehi was cleaning out the litter box and I was cleaning the my bathroom. Lehi smelled something burning, so he comes out to see Emma standing over the candle with a hand full of tissues.

Turns out that they were waiving the tissues over the candle, trying to blow out the flame, but accidently lighting it on fire then waiving it around to attempt to blow it out. Now there is a burn mark in our carpet, about 1 1/2 inches wide. It's awesome! Let me tell you.

Of course they got in trouble and blamed it ALL on the other person. As is the often the case.

Way to go Jacob and Emma!

Hiking in the Grand Canyon

This is before we went on our nature hike.

A Visit with Allie and Rachel

Allie Orr and her daughter Rachel used to live by us in Spring, Texas. But a year ago they moved up to West Valley, Utah When Allie was remarried. We miss them so much!!! Anyway, we got to visit them after we went to Lake Powell. Emma and Rachel had matching PJ's. They looked so cute in them.
The kids had so much fun playing with each other again. They were watching High School Musical, and Rachel and Emma didn't make it through the movie before passing out.

The Beautiful view at the Grand Canyon.

We got to spend two days in the Grand Canyon on our way up to Lake Powell. It was beautiful. Emma was too scared to get close enough to get a picture with. Lehi had teased her earlier that he would throw her over the edge. nice...
